A dangerous situation in Altoona Christmas Eve thankfully ended with no one being hurt.
It started around 2PM Monday when an armed man wouldn’t leave his house for an involuntary commitment.
A resolution to the incident came 17 hours later when the standoff between the man and city police ended as officers descended on the home on the 5500 block of Fifth Avenue.
The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Altoona Regional for evaluation.
