The investigation into an Altoona teenager’s death this week continues.
 
Police say that on Wednesday afternoon they were called to 125 East 3rd Avenue and upon arrival learned that 16 year old Jesse McElhinney had been fatally shot.
 
There are reports that a friend of the victim had brought a handgun to McElhinney’s home that day
 
The Blair County District Attorney’s office will be talking with investigators before making a decision on any possible charges.
 
McElhinney, an Altoona Area school District student, was living with grandparents and brother at the home where the shooting occurred.
 
School District spokeswoman Paula Foreman says that when classes resume Wednesday grief counselors will be on hand to talk with students and faculty.
