Social Security Numbers Compromised at Penn State Altoona

Students at Penn State Altoona are being warned their social security numbers may have been compromised.

Malware infected a server containing about 14 hundred Social Security numbers.

The numbers belong to students who were enrolled at Penn State Altoona before 2005.

Letters are being sent out to people who could be affected.

A similar incident occurred in September 2012 and in 2011. Computer experts say you should monitor your credit card statements and call social security if you believe someone may have stolen your identity.
