Windmill Loses Blade, Forces Facility Shutdown



A large portion of one of the blades on a windmill in the Allegheny Ridge Wind Farm blew off sometime over the weekend forcing the facility to shut down.

A spokesperson for Dallas based Infigen Energy that the company is still in the process of trying to find out what caused the blade to fall.
 
All 40 of the wind farm’s turbines were shut down as a precautionary measure.
 
There were no injuries as a result of the incident that happened along Route 164.
