Second Local Railroad Related Accident In Seven Days Reported

For the second time this month there has been a railroad related accident involving workers at facilities in Altoona.

Wednesday’s injury apparently wasn’t serious as the worker at the Union Tank Car plant in Altoona was transported to UPMC Mercy Trauma and Burn Center in Pittsburgh and was treated and released.

The incident will be investigated by OSHA.

A week ago two workers for Norfolk Southern Corp. were burned by steam at the Juniata Locomotive Shop.
