Home care workers for the disabled in Pennsylvania claim that there’s been an interruption in their pay.
The Associated Press reports that dozens of home care workers claim they have had trouble getting paid after the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare hired a new financial management company to process payroll.
Paychecks were due a week ago. A spokesperson for the United Home Care Workers of Pennsylvania, said that it is possible that hundreds or thousands of home care workers across the state may be encountering this problem.
The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and the new financial management company, Boston-based Public Partnerships Limited, claim they are working as quickly as possible to get every worker paid.
