U.S. Hotel Closes Its Doors

The owner of Hollidaysburg’s U.S. Hotel Restaurant and Tavern avoided a mortgage foreclosure hearing earlier this week by signing over the deed to the property to Altoona First Savings Bank.

The agreement to avoid foreclosure was reached last Friday.

It’s not clear what the future holds for the property.

The U.S. Hotel first opened in 1835 and closed its doors following one final dinner served this past New Year’s Eve.
