Major Hunting Equipment Retailer Pulls Out Of Outdoors Show
Hunting Equipment retailer Cabela’s Inc. will not be taking part in what has been billed as Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor sports show next month.
This comes on the heels of a recent decision to ban the display and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines at the show.
Event organizer Reed Exhibitions imposed the ban at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show following the deadly Connecticut elementary school shooting that has prompted the ongoing gun control debate in Washington.
According to the outdoor show’s website, officials say they strongly support the 2nd Amendment but decided negative attention on such weapons “would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event.
Cabela’s used it’s Facebook page on Saturday to say that after carefully considering its business practices and the feelings of their customers, they will not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
