Beers told WRTA News at last night’s school board meeting that that as he looked into salary documentation he found disparaging numbers from what had been approved by the board and what was showing up in the actual budget numbers.
Beers provided documentation of at least 7 cases where this has happened from 2007 to 2010. The non-board authorized raises ranged from several hundred dollars to in one case, $10,000 for a Confidential Secretary.
Beers says the trail of information seems to lead back to the Superintendent’s office. Superintendent Dennis Murray, who is retiring in June, was not present at last night’s meeting.
Following the pay raise questions by Beers, School District Solicitor Dave Andrews said he would look into the matter as soon as possible.
