A city man, accused of rape, was arrested Tuesday in Cresson Township.
 
Police say that 23 year old Daniel Kenneth Markel, of the 100 block of Logan Boulevard, was picked up by the victim at the Logan Valley Mall on Monday. He then pulled a gun and forced the woman to drive him to the Allegheny Portage National Historic Site where the alleged rape occurred.
 
Authorities say he forced her to drive him back to the mall and threatened to kill her family if she told anyone.

After dropping Markel off at the mall, the victim drove to the Altoona Police Department to report the rape.
