Valley View Home Bids Top $16-Million

Blair County has received offer’s ranging from $12-million to $16.1-million from nine applicants interested in purchasing Valley View Home.

Three of the bids were immediately rejected by county leaders on Tuesday because the parties failed to meet minimum threshold standards, such as negotiating with unions or maintaining a low-to-moderate nursing facility through 2023.

Commissioner Terry Tomassetti says he is happy with the response from the private healthcare market.

The board will now review the finite details of the remaining proposals and begin to meet with the potential buyers. SEIU union representative Sharon Pope says she’s disappointed with the development and says the home’s employees will continue to urge the Commissioners to reconsider the sale.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
