Internal Review Shows City Police Acted Properly In Fatal Crash Incident

A department review of a fatal accident ten days ago in Altoona indicates city police did nothing wrong in the incident.

The crash happened around 4am on the 8th during the pursuit of 21-year-old Jordan Graham as he drove the wrong way on Sixth Avenue. Graham died as he crashed into a garbage truck.

The internal review shows the pursuing patrolman followed protocol during the incident as he couldn’t stop chasing down the vehicle Graham was driving because the patrol car’s lights and siren was needed to alert other motorists of impending danger from vehicle going the wrong way.

Although toxicology results are not in yet, early indications are that Graham had been drinking the night of the crash.
