Altoona City Council recently passed an ordinance calling for a study commission referendum to be placed on the upcoming primary ballot.
 
So far ten petition packets have been picked up at the county elections office by potential candidates considering running for the commission.
 
Those hoping to be on the ballot in May must return the packets to the Elections Office with 200 signatures.
