City Approves Contract to Demolish Memorial Pool

Blair County Central Recreation Commission will move forward with plans to demolish the former Juniata Memorial Pool.

City council approved a contract Wednesday for $36,000 to allow the work to occur. Mike Ventre Excavating will complete the work. City officials borrowed money through a bond issue last year to construct a spray park on the site.

Mayor William Schirf says final design plans are not in place. He says several issues still need to be hashed out before construction could begin at the site.
