The updated photo maps will primarily be used to help the Blair County 911 Center to quickly identify exact emergency locations. Director Mark Taylor says it’s been more than five years since the county was updated.
Taylor says the costs of the project will be shared by other agencies that will also be able to access the system.
Taylor says the photographs are meshed with GPS coordinates to provide exact locations of emergency calls – especially in the county’s more rural areas.
