An Altoona man is facing various charges following an overnight incident involving the drug “Blizzard”
City police tell WRTA NEWS that they received a call around 1AM reporting a man had been shot. When they responded to the scene in the area of the 4200 block of 5th Avenue they discovered that Dalaun Carroll had run up on the front porch of a house and cried out that he was shot. When the residents checked to see what was the matter they found Carroll bleeding from the leg.
As it turned out, Carroll had not been shot but was suffering an overdose of Blizzard and the leg injury was a cut probably caused by Carroll kicking out a window at a friend’s house down the street from where he ended up.
Carroll, who was on probation, was taken to Altoona Regional for treatment and when officers arrived to remove him from the hospital he fought with them. Police had to use pepper spray to subdue him.
Charges against Carroll include Public Drunkenness, Paraphernalia, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Simple Assault.
