Tomassetti: Vote to Sell VVH Likely to Happen Tuesday

A vote to sell Valley View Nursing Home to a private operator will likely occur next week.

Commissioner Terry Tomassetti said Tuesday that the board will have the upcoming weekend to thoroughly review the final proposals.

Tomassetti and Commissioner Diane Meling spent the last two weeks visiting nursing homes owned by the potential buyers. Meling says she liked what she saw.

The county has preliminary offers ranging from $12.1-million to $16-million. The board also acknowledged yesterday that they’ve been contacted by commissioners in other counties who are interested in privatizing their own facilities.
