With DEP Out, Logan Officials Hopeful Complex Will Sell
Logan Township Supervisors have completed a DEP remediation plan at the site of their former municipal building – and now board members are hopeful that the property will sell to a private owner.
DEP officials ordered the cleanup in 2002 when the township removed petroleum storage tanks from the property. More than 343 tons of soil was excavated during the cleanup process. Township officials don’t know how the contamination occurred, but they said a damaged storage tank was not to blame.
Supervisor Ed Frontino says getting the DEP out of the way will make the property more attractive to buyers.
The board has had no luck in selling the property over the past four years.
