A majority of school board members also voted Tuesday to hire a Philadelphia law firm to take over the ongoing investigation into alleged illegal pay raises given to some administrators and support staff. Board member Tim Lucas cast one of three dissenting votes.
Board president Ryan Beers says the move was necessary to get to the bottom of the allegations and to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Solicitor Dave Andrews has recused himself from the process saying he may now be a potential witness.
The board is also requiring that all administrative and support personnel connected to the accusations make it a priority to fully cooperate with investigators.
