AASD Ends Lease with Outside Charter School

The Altoona Area School District is parting ways with the Central Pennsylvania Digital Learning Foundation.
School board members voted 5-4 Monday to end their affiliation with the program. The charter school leases space from the district – and officials say the revenue it generates is in dispute. Board member Sharon Bream says the district needs to focus on its own charter school.
Bream says the school district gets to keep the funding when the student stays in house. And she says students who graduate from the program actually receive an AASD diploma.
