Social Clubs Asks Council to Allow Outside Music

An Altoona social club has asked city council to back its efforts to allow outdoor musical performances.
Cesare Battisti officials provided council with a petition Wednesday night that contained more than 35 signatures from neighbors who support the move. Council will need to hold a public hearing on the matter before petitioning the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board with the request.
Councilman Dave Butterbaugh is supportive of the effort.
City solicitor Larry Clapper says if the PLCB approves the request, the city will deal with any complaints through its noise ordinance. A formal hearing date has not been set.
