Mount Union Man Arrested In Blair County Truck Theft

A man is in custody after State Police say he stole a big rig from a Duncansville business.
It happened around 3:45 Sunday afternoon at Burchfield Truck Sales. Troopers say a security officer saw the truck being stolen and followed it. The suspect led police on a pursuit that came to an end 35 miles away along Piney Ridge Road in Huntingdon County. Troopers had to use spike strips to stop the chase. The truck sustained about $4,000 in damage.
35 year old Leonard Ellis, of Mount Union, was arrested and arraigned on charges of recklessly endangering, receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding and numerous traffic violations and was lodged in the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
A second suspect was detained but later released.
