County leaders appointed Glenn Nelson Junior to the position on Tuesday. Nelson – a Hollidaysburg native – most recently worked for the State College Parks and Recreation Society. And he previously served as an education coordinator for Chester County Parks & Recreations.
Nelson tells WRTA News he plans to use knowledge gained in his past employment to add new programs and expand the fort’s activities.
The Commissioners interviewed more than 80 applicants for the position. Nelson’s salary has been set at $38,000 per-year.
