Suspect In Case of Missing Altoona Woman Leads Police To Her Remains

Officials say that the suspect in the case of an Altoona woman missing since 1999 led investigators to her remains.
A search that started three weeks ago on 150 acres of land near Warriors Mark ended after 65 year old Kenneth Leighty of Altoona told investigators where he buried Sherry Leighty, his daughter-in-law.
Huntingdon County District Attorney George Zanic says that police found Sherry Leighty's skeletal remains just before 4 p.m. Saturday.
Kenneth Leighty has also admitted to killing the 23-year-old mother of three.
The investigation into Sherry Leighty’s death is on going and no cause of death has been released at this point. Kenneth Leighty’s attorney says his client maintains the death was accidental.
