Cooperative Extension in Talks with Airport Authority to Rent Office Space
Blair County’s Cooperative Extension Office may find a new home at the Altoona Blair County Airport in Martinsburg.
Commissioner Diane Meling tells WRTA News that the airport’s authority is willing to rent former restaurant space in the terminal to the Penn State extension office. Meling says the move makes sense because most of the office’s dealings occur with farmers in and around the Cove area and the rent money is a plus for the authority.
Meling says the Master Gardners and 4-H operations would also move to the Cove.
The extension office is currently located in the basement of Valley View Home – which the board voted to privatize in March.
