Upset Parents Attend Spring Cove School Board Meeting

Most of the 200 plus people attending last night’s Spring Cove School Board meeting were there to voice their displeasure with the district's preliminary budget and the three teacher furloughs it includes.
The biggest issue was budget cuts that include the school reducing the high school level music staff from four to three teachers with marching band director Dustin Rainey being furloughed at the end of the school year. Parents and students fear that means no more marching band.
Superintendent Robert Vadella assured the tense crowd that the district was not eliminating the band.
Final approval of the budget could come next month.
