Officials: "Toona Tune-Up" a Success

Hundreds of Altoona High School students came together on Thursday to clean up parts of the city and Logan Township.
More than 400 students and three-dozen teachers participated in the first-ever “Toona Tune-Up” event. Altoona School District spokeswoman Paula Foreman says the event was a way for the students to give something back to the community.
Foreman says the students all volunteered their time. They focused their clean-up efforts on 22 locations across the city and township. City officials say the students got a lot accomplished.
They put in a total of about 3,000 man hours over the course of the day.
