Tyrone Man Faces Charges After Stealing Woman’s Car and Breaking Her Ankle
A Tyrone man is facing charges following an unusual stolen car incident over the weekend.
According to state police, 32 year old Joseph A. Friedenberger Jr., of 811 Hoovers Lane, was at a woman’s Tyrone home on Teaberry Street Sunday when he told her he wanted to use her car. When the woman refused he took it anyway and in the process kicked the woman as she tried to stop him.
When the woman walked to Friedenberger's home to get her car back she found Friedenberger behind the wheel. When she tried to get in the car, Freedenberg allegedly put the car in reverse and knocked her into a creek bed. He then pulled her out of the creek and took her to the hospital.
Friedenberger was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault along with misdemeanor simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and unauthorized use of an automobile.
The woman suffered a broken ankle in the incident.
