Police: No Charges in Penn Farms Car-Pedestrian Accident

Blair Township Police say they will not file any charges against the driver involved in an auto-pedestrian accident Tuesday morning.
A 16-year-old girl was struck near the intersection of Newry and Wade Lanes near Penn Farms. Police say the teen inadvertently stepped into the path of the vehicle traveling east on Newry Lane
The teenager was taken to Altoona Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Her name was not released. The driver – William Bendis Junior of Hastings – was unable to swerve and avoid hitting the teen.
Police say neither speed nor operator error contributed to the accident.
