An Altoona woman will spend the next 30 days to two-years behind bars for neglecting a care-dependent person.
Judge Jolene Kopriva also ordered 63-year-old Diana Frye on Thursday to pay a $500 fine and to cover the cost of her prosecution. Police say Frye and two co-workers neglected an 80-year-old male while working at Warner’s Home for the Aged on 14th Avenue in Altoona. The man suffered bodily injuries as a result of the neglect.
Welfare agents say the elderly man sat in his own bodily fluids while under Frye’s care – and he developed sores as a result of the living conditions. Frye entered a guilty plea to neglect charges in March.
