Police: Man Robs Candy Store with Knife

Police say no one was injured with a man robbed a Northern Blair County candy store at knifepoint.
It happened just after 4:00PM Monday at the Gardner’s Candies Ice Cream Parlor on West 10th Street in Tyrone Borough. Witnesses say the man walked in, brandished a knife and demanded money from a worker. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Tyrone Police spent several hours inspecting the store for fingerprints. The suspect is described as a male in his 20’s with dark hair and dark facial hear. He was wearing a blue and white checkered shirt and was carrying a bag. Police say a man matching the same description was observed sitting outside the store the previous night.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is urged to contact Tyrone police at 684-1365.
