City Man Faces Arson Charge For Setting Car On Fire

A car fire over the weekend in Altoona has resulted in a city man being charged with arson.
A little after 1:30 Saturday morning police responded to the 2600 block of Broad Avenue Alley where they found a car going up in flames.
According to eye witnesses, 22 year old Brandon Silver of 2616 Broad Avenue, Apartment 2 had poured gasoline over the car and lit it with a piece burning cardboard.
Silver, who allegedly started a brush fire in Logan township last month, has been charged with felony arson and criminal mischief in the weekend car fire.
Silver has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
