An investigation into an alleged pain killer abuse incident at Tyrone Hospital has resulted in charges against a local man.
The Attorney General’s office is accusing 36 year old Brad Young, a former nurse, of injecting himself with Fentanyl on June 28th and then returning the syringe to the operating room.
A nurse who noticed something was wrong with the syringe reported the situation. All persons connecting to the operating room were interviewed and drug tested with Young's results coming back positive for Fentanyl.
Young, a registered nurse currently on probation, allegedly admitted to injecting the drug but has denied taking Fentanyl from the hospital any other time.
Young was arraigned Monday on misdemeanor drug and theft charges.
