Social Club Gets Council Approval for Outdoor Music

An Altoona social club is one step closer to offering outside entertainment.
City Council on Wednesday narrowly approved the Cesare Battisti’s request to seek permission from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to hold the concerts.
Club vice-president Michael Provenzano says his organization will only host one or two events per week. Provenzano says the concerts won’t be a nuisance to the neighbors.
Councilman Dave Butterbaugh voted no, saying the city’s police department doesn’t have time to field any noise complaints.
The PLCB will now schedule a public hearing before deciding whether or not to grant the request.
