Police: Man Arrested in Copper, Gift Basket Thefts
Police in Cambria County says they have arrested the man believed to have taken copper and gift baskets from a Colver church.
Investigators say 31-year-old Paul Younkin has admitted to the crime, which happened last week. Younkin targeted the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church near Ebensburg. According to police, Younkin shut off the water before taking copper piping out of the ceiling, walls and bathrooms.
Younkin is also charged with stealing several gift baskets that were donated for a fundraiser. The church says Younkin’s thefts did not cause their weekend fundraiser to be delayed.
