Investigation Continues Into Fatal Blair Township Crash
The Blair Township Police continue to investigate Thursday’s one vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Hollidaysburg man.
Police say the crash occurred around 12:30AM in the area of 286 Chimney Rocks Road. The investigation at this point has shown that the vehicle was traveling west on SR 2016 when it crossed the centerline and struck the guardrails. The vehicle continued west along the guardrail and then veered back across the highway and traveled up an embankment where it struck a tree head on. The vehicle then rolled onto the driver’s side and came to rest along the berm of the highway.
The driver, 22 year old Jason Michael Henry Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene by Blair County Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Guyer. Henry Jr. died as a result of severe blunt force trauma to the head.
A passenger in the vehicle, 24 year old Gary Plowman Jr., of Altoona, was able to crawl from the vehicle through the passenger side window. He was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment of injuries received from the crash.
