An Altoona women’s group is looking to help some local women in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.
Wise Women of Blair County has established a scholarship fund through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation. The monies would be available for women over 21-years-old who are pursuing new opportunities by returning to the classroom.
Organizers say they want to empower women by eliminating racism through service and education techniques. Qualifying women have until September 30th to submit and application and letters of support if the plan to seek one of the scholarships.
