Altoona Police have charged two local men in connection with a two-day robbery spree.
Officers arrested 29-year-old Shawn Michael Beck and 22-year-old Tyler Anthony Lattieri of Altoona on Tuesday morning. Investigators say Beck and Lattieri first targeted the Dollar General on Lloyd Street on Monday. Beck allegedly got away with a small amount of cash.
Police say on Tuesday the men first robbed the Citizen’s Bank on Broad Avenue, before targeting the Family Dollar on the 200 Block of East Pleasant Valley Boulevard. Officers say witnesses gave a good description of the getaway car.
Beck and Lattieri were taken into custody after State Police troopers stopped the vehicle at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 5th Street near the Washington-Jefferson Elementary School. Both men are facing felony robbery and related charges.
Beck and Lattieri were lodged in the Blair County Prison after being unable to post bail.
