A Blair County judge has order a Frankstown Township woman to stand trial on charges she bought the gun her boyfriend used to kill three people during a shooting spree late last year.
Judge Elizabeth Doyle also ruled Thursday that statements 52-year-old Brenda Shultz made to police investigators about the gun purchase can be used against her at trial. State Police allege that Shutlz purchased the handgun for Jeffrey Lee Michael, who couldn’t get one on his own.
Michael gunned down three people near Geeseytown on December 21st, after going on a verbal tirade about his life. Shultz’s attorney called Pennsylvania’s straw purchase laws vague and unclear. Michael was shot and killed by police following a shootout with the officers trying to apprehend him.
