Ninth District Congressman Bill Shuster went in front of the Blair County Tea Party last night.
More than 200 people attended the town hall event at the Ramada Inn ballroom. Shuster answered a variety of questions ranging from accountability in Benghazi to de-funding Obamacare, and whether CIA information leaker Edward Snowden was a traitor or hero. About one-third of the audience found Snowden to be a hero during a non-scientific straw poll of the audience.
Tea Party members also challenged Shuster on immigration reform – and Shuster responded by saying he supports stronger borders, but not amnesty. The 6-term congressman was also asked if he planned to make congress a “career.” Shuster answered by saying “no way” – but he wasn’t specific about when he would exit Congress.
