McCord Takes Shots at Corbett, Not at Fellow Democrats

On his first full day as a Democratic gubernatorial candidate, state Treasurer Rob McCord spent an hour introducing himself to Capitol reporters and taking shots at Republican Governor Tom Corbett.
At a briefing Wednesday at a Harrisburg hotel, McCord said his combined experience as a venture capitalist and in government make him the best choice to take on Corbett next year, but declined to say why his seven Democratic opponents are any less qualified.
The 54-year-old McCord says voters must "evict" Corbett from the governor's office because he is too disengaged from the political process to make good policy.
McCord describes himself as a seasoned executive who'll search for innovative ways that government can do more with less. He reiterated that improving education in Pennsylvania is his top priority.
