An Altoona Police officer facing felony assault charges for punching a man following a concert in Washington County earlier this month has had his preliminary hearing delayed.
Matt Plummer is now scheduled to appear in court on October 24th.
The 27-year-old Plummer was arrested September 8th for allegedly hitting Thomas Andrews in the face after Andrews reportedly mooned a bus full of law enforcement officers and harassed the driver after a window was shattered.
Plummer’s attorney says it’s a case of self-defense because Andews threw the first punch.
The delay will allow Plummer’s attorney time to evaluate medical records.
Plummer remains on desk duty with the Altoona Police Department pending the outcome of his criminal case.
