Twelve Arrested in Alcohol-Fueled Melee at Student Housing Complex

Twelve people – mostly Penn State Altoona students – were arrested after an alcohol-fueled situation at a Logan Township housing complex over the weekend.
Police were first called to Nittany Pointe after three students climbed a water tower – one of them was afraid to come down. Officers called in a Logan Township Fire Department ladder truck to bring the student down.

Shortly after police returned to the complex to break up a part of more than 100 students. Eight more students were taken into custody after they began to throw objects at police. The students were charged with underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
Logan Township Police called in officers from all over Blair County to help handle the situation.
