Shuster Blames President, Senate For Shutdown

U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster said the unwillingness of President Barack Obama and the Senate to negotiate is to blame for the government shutdown.
The Republican Congressman said during a conference call with reporters Tuesday afternoon that the president’s unwillingness to work with House Republicans is frustrating, saying the president is willing to negotiate with the Russians, talk to the Ukrainians, but won’t talk to the duly elected Congress.
Shuster said the shutdown should only be temporary.
Shuster said the House has sent legislation to the Senate to defund and delay the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Shuster encouraged residents to call their senators and talk to them about working with the House on a solution. He warned that this battle may not be the final big fight. That he says will be the debt ceiling.
