Sheetz Files Lot Plan for Chestnut Avenue Store

  It’s official.

Sheetz will build a new store near UPMC Altoona. City planning director Lee Slusser says the company submitted a land development plan on Wednesday. Slusser says the building will be constructed on the brownfield site at the intersection of Chestnut and 7th Avenues. He says the building and gas pumps are designed to fit within the existing lot– which was difficult considering the site’s urban setting.

Slusser says a detailed traffic didn’t reveal any major issues. There is no word on when the company plans to break ground at the site.
