Logan Health Insurance Costs to Increase $52,000

Logan Township will experience a moderate increase in the cost of its employee health insurance premiums next year.
Board members approved the new agreement at their Thursday meeting. Manager Tim Brown says insurance premiums for employees covered by the United Steelworker’s agreement will jump 13-percent, while police and other non-uniform personnel will see a 15-percent spike.
That translates to a $52,000 increase – brining the township’s annual healthcare costs to $435,000. The township purchases its healthcare for all employees through the United Steelworker’s Union.
Brown said locking in the rates now will ensure there are no changes in benefit limits for township workers.
