National Prescription Drug Take-back Day Set For Saturday
The Drug Enforcement Administration has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day for this weekend.
Judy Rosser, Executive Director for Blair Drug and Alcohol Partnerships says it’s good opportunity for people to go through their medicine cabinets and get rid of expired medications.
The drop off event takes place Saturday from 10AM to 2PM and medications can be taken to five drop-off locations in Blair County: Friendship Fire Company on East Main Street in Roaring Spring, the Pennsylvania State Police Barracks on North Juniata Street in Hollidaysburg, Thompson Pharmacy on East Chestnut Avenue in Altoona, the Tyrone Police Department on Logan Avenue in Tyrone, and at Walgreen’s on East Plank Road in Altoona.
The service is free and anonymous. Items can be left “as is” with labels on and pills in bottle. No needles will be accepted.
