A city man is facing various charges following his arrest Thursday afternoon.
24 year old Troy Christopher Hicks, of 1013 Lexington Avenue, has been charged with three counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substances , Simple Assault and other related charges.
Altoona police say that when they picked Hicks up on the 400 block of North 12th Avenue he was was in possession of two grams of Cocaine, marijuana and alprazolam tablets - all individually packaged for sale.
While arresting officers were preparing to load Hicks into the police cruiser he broke free and fled on foot with his arms cuffed behind his back. Officers gave chase and took him into custody about a couple of blocks away without further incident. Officers were assisted by a bystander who was in the immediate area.
A second criminal complaint was compiled charging Hicks with Escape, Flight to Avoid Apprehension or Prosecution, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.
A Pennsylvania State Parole Detainer was also lodged against Hicks.
